Ajibade seals the passport to the Champions League

A goal from Ajibade in the 75th minute ended Villarreal’s resistance. The dominance and the chances were ours, which deserved a victory that gave us the passport to next season’s Champions League.

The match began with a dominant Atlético de Madrid, looking for the goal from the start, and with Villarreal forced to score to avoid relegation. The chances were Atletico Madrid (red-and-white).

Ajibade was the first to try with a shot that crashed into the side of the net after a pass from Boe Risa in the 7th minute. Shortly after, Ajibade set up the play with a cross that Sheila headed wide.

The match only had red and white color and after half an hour of play the best opportunity of ours would come. Great play by Ajibade on the right, with a stellar cutback to her partner to put a measured cross for Ana Vitória to crash her header into the left crossbar of the visiting goal.
And, in the extension of the first half, another play by Ajibade down her flank to put in a cross that Boe Risa headed just over the crossbar. With the initial 0-0 would go into the break.

The second half saw a superior red-and-white team again but it took time for the chances to arrive to uneven the score. In addition, the news coming from Valencia was not good because Levante won their match and provisionally moved into third place. In the 67th minute, Ajibade picked up a bad clearance from the visiting defense to launch a shot that Elena de Toro saved deflecting into the corner.

Insistence had its reward. A lateral free kick taken by Boe Risa to the heart of the area was not cleared by two Villareal (yellow) defenders and Ajibade passed by, who if not, very active all morning, to shoot with a strong shot at the goal of the Castellón team. A goal that brought delirium to the stands of the Alcalá de Henares Sports Center and that put ours back in third place in Liga F.

Until the end, Arturo Ruiz’s team continued to insist but the result would not move. Party at the Alcalá de Henares Sports Center to celebrate the return to the Champions League.
